It seems somewhat inevitable, but as Nassim Taleb has eloquently written, naive interventionism in complex systems always brings new problems—the question is really how much more potentially dangerous the unknown dangers are to current known ones of not using them.

That is the question. Pick your poison. What's going to hurt more, the "cure" or disease? Not that SRM is any real fix, only a time buying bandaid at best.
